Cut height matters more than cut day
Most lawn problems around Brighton trace back to mowing too short. Scalped turf loses the shade that keeps soil cool, dries out by mid-July, and hands crabgrass an open invitation.
We keep cool-season lawns in the 3 to 3.5 inch range and never remove more than a third of the blade in one pass. Blades get sharpened on a schedule, because a torn leaf tip browns out and invites disease while a clean cut heals in a day.
